I'm attempting it. I've been pushing sc4 files back and forth between Simscity4 and TS2, trying to get rid of extra roads, make the map smaller, and make some of the views a little more interesting. It is definitely not as easy as I expected, but it's not all that difficult.
These shots are amazing, I'm jealous your hood looks so great from that view :/
ReplyDeleteSorry I can't offer any advice in what you're doing, it sounds even more complicated than what I'm doing at the moment. (Rebuilding the entire hood + population)
Oh thank you! I'm slowly getting it into shape. Actually what you're doing is harder. Rebuilding an entire hood and repopulating it is a long and laborious chore!
ReplyDeleteOooh, this looks lovely! I have made my own terrain from scratch in SC4 but I've never successfully edited one. I tried to get my terrain to load in SC4, failed and then gave up without trying again, lol!
ReplyDeletethank you, Carla! I wonder why your sc4 file wouldn't load. I've had problems with Simscity. Sometimes it does not seem to 'see' the modifications. It keeps picking up earlier edits. It's really frustrating. I'm not sure if it's harder or easier to modify an existing terrain. I like parts of it but it's been difficult to get it to work. If I had been starting from scratch, I would have done a lot of things differently.

ReplyDeleteEkhoGirl, the work always seems worth it after you're done LOL! I'm only half way through fixing this terrain. I still have a lot of flat map full of roads to try to make pretty.
